The Supreme Court screwed up huge the other day with their decision on medical marijuana! Sorry to get political here, but how dare John Paul Stevens and the other 5 signed on with. This decision split the political ideologies of the court. Justifiably, may I say! I am not a smoker of any form of tobacco, but I have dealt with my share of dying people. A little marijuana helps a sick and dying person to feel better, and now they have the federalies shaking down their doctors?!?!
Regardless of your opinion of marijuana, several states voted to legalize medical prescriptions of marijuana. The only reason that hemp (from which marijuana comes) is because William Randolph Hearst felt threatened that hemp was going to cut into his timber sales. He used his newspapers to demonize marijuana and it was eventually banned with the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act, which was repealed during World War II. The federal illegality of marijuana was never lifted though, because Hearst's papers did such a good job destroying it in mainstream America.
So, if your grandma, or your great uncle is suffering from cancer or glaucoma, make sure you turn them in if they take a little smoke to counteract the effects of their disease and give them an appetite. Remember, it is your duty as a patriot!
If you think that this verdict was a joke, the decision left room for Congress to correct. Congress can overturn it by legalizing marijuana (medical or otherwise). They can also regulate homegrown marijuana under interstate commerce. So contact your legislators! If you dont know who they are, you can find out. Senate.gov and House.gov. They will help you. Come on, we need the masses to speak out!!!
